1. Ode à la Rose ($$)

French-inspired, elegant, streamlined, consistent. Flower arrangements from $50.

A luxury seasonal flower bouquet from Ode a la Rose in NYC

Ode à la Rose florist brought Parisian flower culture to NYC without the snobbery that usually comes with it.

The concept is refreshingly simple—they do fewer things but do them exceptionally well. While other shops constantly chase the next trend, they’ve perfected their lane: beautiful roses and select seasonal blooms, impeccably presented.

The online ordering process is actually pleasant—no endless upsells or confusing options. I’ve sent their arrangements to the pickiest people I know and received genuine thanks.

They’re always an excellent option for chic Mother’s Day flowers, a romantic Valentine’s Day flower arrangement, and a beautiful floral gift for friends, family, and loved ones throughout the year.

2. Plantshed ($$)

Established, educational, varied, neighborhood-staple. Floral arrangements from $40.

Plantshed has deep roots in New York City. Floristry has been a part of this family-owned and operated business since the 1950s. I love their spectacular in-house designs and unwavering commitment to sourcing their flowers from local farms.

This NYC florist also maintains a dedicated 10,000 sqft optimized growing facility in the city. Moreover, there’s a rooftop greenhouse on the Upper West Side. Here they grow native grasses, evergreens, tropical plants, and blooming annuals. There’s truly something here for every budget and occasion.

Hands down, one of our favorite florists in New York City and one of the best same-day flower delivery services in Manhattan.

3. UrbanStems ($$)

Modern and stylish bouquets for every occasion. Floral arrangements from $50.

UrbanStems changed the NYC flower game when they landed—I was skeptical at first (another delivery service?), but they’ve earned their spot.

Their streamlined ordering system saves precious NYC minutes, and they actually show up when promised. No small feat in this city!

They also offer super fast same-day flower delivery throughout NYC with options for two or 4-hour delivery windows on all orders placed by 4 pm that day.

Their arrangements lean modern and clean—perfect if you’re tired of the same old roses. While not the cheapest option, they’ve rescued me countless times with same-day deliveries that didn’t look rushed.

Pro tip: Their flower subscription service makes you look thoughtful year-round with minimal effort.

4. fLorEsta ($$)

Sustainable, fresh, local, stylish, authentic.

Floresta NYC

Floresta NYC stands out as the real deal in sustainability without skimping on style.

I’ve followed them since they opened shop—back when “eco-friendly floristry” was still catching on. Their secret? Strong relationships with Hudson Valley farmers who grow the most interesting varieties you won’t find elsewhere.

Stop by on Thursdays when their fresh shipments arrive. The staff remembers your preferences and won’t upsell you on stuff you don’t need. These folks know their flowers and treat customers like neighbors.

Jerome Florists NYC

Jerome’s is that neighborhood gem you hope tourists never discover. The Moretti family has run this shop for three generations, and they remember your name after just one visit.

Nothing fancy about the storefront, but don’t let that fool you—their arrangements have this effortless elegance that pricier shops try too hard to copy. I’ve sent their flowers to the pickiest people in my circle, and they always call to ask where I found them.

The prices haven’t changed much in years, which is practically unheard of in this city. Stop by on Mondays when they get their first deliveries of the week—you’ll get the freshest picks.

Their window displays change weekly and stop pedestrians in their tracks. Go early on weekends or you’ll miss the good stuff.

Reliable, corporate-friendly, consistent, professional, punctual. Prices from $70.

Starbright Floral Design New York City

Starbright has been the quiet backbone of NYC’s corporate flower scene for decades. While they don’t grab headlines like trendier shops, they’re the folks handling thousands of weekly office arrangements without breaking a sweat.

Their team runs like clockwork, which explains why half the hotels in Manhattan use them. Not the shop for wild, artistic arrangements, but when you need guaranteed solid results and zero drama, they’re your people.

Address:

13. Mimosa Floral ($$$)

Artsy, surprising, passionate, evolving, memorable. Prices from $55.

Mimosa still feels like a happy accident I stumbled upon years ago. Sarah, the owner, left a high-stress finance job to play with flowers, and that joy shows in every arrangement.

The shop looks different each season—they’re always experimenting. Their style shifts constantly, so what you get this month won’t look like last month’s creation.

Not the cheapest option, but they nail those special occasions when you need something that makes people gasp. They remember clients’ preferences in a way that feels magical in a city this size.

Callia started this place as a workshop space that evolved into a full-service florist with a cult following. They’re serious about zero waste; bring back your vase for a discount on your next order.

Their arrangements have this untamed, just-picked-from-a-meadow feel that’s hard to find in NYC. The team knows the story behind every stem they sell, down to the farm it grew on.

They’ve turned me on to flowers I’d never heard of before. Not the place for traditional dozen roses, but if you want something that feels personal and alive, you can’t beat them.

Refined, understated, elevated, intentional, natural. Prices from $60.

Autumn vase flower arrangement from Fox Fodder Farm

Fox Fodder Farm has stayed true to its vision while other shops chase trends. Taylor’s background in art shows in every careful composition—nothing feels random or rushed.

The Williamsburg studio is like walking into a Dutch still life painting. They don’t overwhelm with color or size; instead, they nail those subtle details other florists miss.

Their palette tends toward moody, sophisticated tones that somehow look expensive even when they’re not. When someone asks me for “something different but not weird,” I send them straight to FFF.

Their wedding work is especially stunning—never formulaic but always elegant. Worth every penny for occasions that matter.

In short, one of my favorite late-night florists and one of the best options for cheap flower delivery in New York City.

Address:

24. Blooming Affairs ($$$)

Elegant, high-end, meticulous, gracious, adaptable. Floral arrangements from $50.

Blooming Affairs quietly handles some of the most lavish private events in the city without the social media fanfare of trendier shops.

Mina, the owner, has a sixth sense about client taste—often delivering exactly what you want before you know you want it.

Her Madison Avenue studio operates like a well-oiled machine, but the results feel anything but mechanical. I’ve seen her transform sterile hotel ballrooms into enchanted gardens overnight. Her pricing matches her clientele (read: expensive), but what you’re paying for is peace of mind.

The team excels at last-minute miracles without showing a hint of stress. When other florists say something’s impossible, Mina finds a way. Her holiday installations for residential buildings are particularly stunning—worth walking by even if you can’t afford her services.

Address:

25. James Weir Floral Design Co. ($$)

Historic, steadfast, quality-focused, unpretentious, trustworthy. Prices from $50.

James Weir has been serving Brooklyn since 1853—that’s not a typo. They’ve survived every flower fad, economic crisis, and pandemic without losing their soul.

The current owners maintain that perfect balance between tradition and keeping up with the times. Their Park Slope shop feels like stepping back into old New York, complete with vintage coolers that still work perfectly.

The arrangements aren’t trying to be Instagram sensations—just beautifully crafted flowers that last. Their delivery drivers know every doorman in Brooklyn by name. The kind of place that makes you remember why small businesses matter. Their holiday wreaths sell out every year—order early.

Address:

26. Richard Salome Flowers ($$$)

Opulent, precise, established, connected, refined. Prices from $75.

A luxury rose arrangement by Richard Salome Flowers in NYC

Richard Salome is the florist other florists call when they’re in a bind.

After 30+ years in the business, he has sources for flowers you didn’t even know existed. His Midtown studio isn’t fancy—all the luxury goes into the flowers, not the storefront. His team includes some of the best arrangers in the city, many who’ve been with him for decades.

You’re paying top dollar, but the execution is flawless. Not the place for trendy, wild arrangements, but when something absolutely must be perfect and money is no object, Richard delivers.

His Christmas decorations for financial institutions are legendary.

Address:

27. Floral Heights ($$$)

Esteemed florist in Brooklyn Heights. Prices from $60.

Floral Heights is the creation of Charlotte D’Costa Taylor—a skilled NYC florist with over 25 years of design experience.

Charlotte has worked for several leading high-end floral design studios in the city. Her training incorporated various techniques, from Japanese Ikebana to classical European styles.

What I love most is how they translate your vague ideas into exactly what you wanted. “Something different for my mom” somehow becomes the perfect arrangement.

Address:

28. Flowers On The Park ($$$)

Neighborly, reliable, unfussy, comforting, genuine. Prices from $75.

Flowers on the Park isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel—and thank goodness for that. This Washington Heights staple serves the community with zero pretension and plenty of heart.

The studio’s signature style leans towards classical and timeless designs featuring a diverse array of flowers year-round. There’s a rich choice of color palettes and tones, and you’ll find plenty of options for birthdays, anniversary flowers, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day gifts, and more.

They’ll work with any budget, and they actually mean it.

Address:

29. Sahola Fashion Boutique ($$$)

Fashion-forward, theatrical, adventurous, statement-making, curated. Prices from $85.

Sahola isn’t just selling flowers—they’re selling drama in the best possible way. This Chelsea boutique feels more like an art gallery than a flower shop, with installations that stop sidewalk traffic.

Their price point matches their Chelsea address, but you’re getting something impossible to duplicate. Not the place for traditional roses—they’ll gently steer you toward something more interesting.

The staff actually listens when you explain the recipient’s taste rather than pushing house styles. When I need to impress someone who thinks they’ve seen everything, Sahola never disappoints.

Address:

30. Ovando ($$$$)

Editorial, refined, architectural, high-fashion, exquisite. Prices from $150.

Ovando set the standard for NYC’s luxury flower scene long before Instagram existed.

Sandra’s background in fashion is evident in every clean-lined, perfectly balanced arrangement that leaves her atelier. The shop itself is a masterclass in restraint—flowering branches precisely placed, not a petal out of place.

Her team handles half the fashion shows each season, yet they’ll still fuss over your single arrangement with the same attention. The prices match the clientele (think: fashion houses and uptown socialites), but you’re getting absolute perfection.

When only flawless execution will do, Ovando delivers every time.

Address:

31. Simpson & Co. ($$$$)

Luxurious UWS flower shop. Prices from $100+.

Expect soft tones, quality flowers, and classically composed designs across the studio’s signature collections.

Address:

32. Big Apple Florist ($$$)

Dependable, corporate-savvy, efficient, straightforward, unpretentious. Prices from $50.

Big Apple Florist has been the quiet workhorse of NYC’s flower scene for decades. They won’t win awards for cutting-edge design, but they’ll never let you down either.

Their Midtown location serves as command central for weekly corporate deliveries. I’ve seen their operation behind the scenes—it runs like a military operation. Their arrangements aren’t trying to be gallery pieces, just solid, well-crafted flowers that arrive on time and last.

When Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day turns other shops into chaos, they maintain their cool. Perfect for business sending or when reliability matters more than artistic expression. Their prices have stayed reasonable while others have skyrocketed.

Address:

33. City Blossoms ($$$)

Fresh, surprising, warm, authentic, accessible. Prices from $75.

City Blossoms feels like the kind of shop that should’ve always been on your corner. What sets them apart is how they bridge the gap between everyday and special occasion—nothing feels precious or intimidating.

Their prices won’t give you sticker shock, and they don’t upsell or push add-ons. They remember your preferences after just one visit. The arrangements have a casual yet considered style that looks effortless but actually requires real skill.

When I need flowers that feel like they were actually chosen for the recipient, I head straight here.
